East Preston Festival 2014 Amateur DJ Competition

dj comp1-page-001

East Preston is a small village of around 5,500 people, situated on the Sussex coast roughly halfway between Littlehampton and Worthing.

For over 30 years the village has held an annual festival. Last year there were 98 different events held throughout the 10 days, raising a total of £24,500 for the local community, organisations and charities.

This year we would like to introduce a new event – an amateur DJ competition. We hope that this exciting new event will complement the existing programme and stimulate a greater inclusion of the slightly younger part of the community.

DJ Entry Form

The competition will be free to enter. We are expecting to run around 3 knock out sessions, with the grand final being held during the festival on 7th June 2014. We have the fantastic prize of a live club set in London for the over 18 winner and a live set on Optical radio in London for the under 18 winner.

The sessions will be held in either the village hall or the East Preston Football Clubhouse and will last for about 4 hours. A full speaker and lighting set will be provided courtesy of AWOLsound system hire and the DJ equipment is being provided courtesy of Sussex DJ Equipment Hire. We will charge a nominal admission charge for spectators to contribute to the festival fund, of just 50p for the knock out sessions, and £1 for the final.

We have an awesome line up of professional judges for the panel for each session, who will be kindly donating their time to support this event. Oh and I almost forgot the core of volunteers actually doing the rest of the organizing, printing etc.

What do we need from you? In order to run this as a free event for the local community we need a few more sponsors. Anything that you could give would be hugely appreciated. What do you get other than a nice warm feeling? A mention in the festival programme, possibly even a half page advert if you are really generous! There are over 4,000 copies printed and distributed every year.

Please turn over to see who is already kindly supporting this event:
